19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been won on hardcourt
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his first championship for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a torrid season, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with long-term trainer his previous coach.
Now collaborating with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.
It is his first championship following the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt from March of the previous year.
The win also means he has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one distinct events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my children simultaneously, so to win a trophy is really nice," commented ranked player Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, featuring in that event in the past months.
His counter-punching play style and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had prompted some to question if his ability to play at the top level was finished.
But the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to advance forward and play positively, supported by an better serve.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky opponent, winning four of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.
The competitors exchanged service breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his initial professional championship, seized the initiative to force a final set.
The opponent saved 4 early break points in a competitive third set before the champion broke to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, he clinched the win with a rally at the net, with his opponent incapable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
